Black Leather and Pink Satin Jackets

Last week my top news source, Yahoo.com, revealed to me that Top Gun was released 24 years ago.

What you talkin' 'bout, Willis?

HOW is that possible?

My bratty brother-in-law informed me he was 4 at the time.

I hope he can feel the stink-eye I am giving him all the way from H'town to Germany.

Punk.

And just like I can remember where and when I saw Maverick, Goose, Slider and Ice Man play that famous sand volleyball scene, particular music has the same effect.

Music is a great marker for memories of our lives.

I'm going to out myself by saying that sometimes the dial on my radio somehow arrives on Sunny 99.1 and when I hear a Chicago song, it takes me back to slow dancin' in the gym of my Junior High School.

Arms extended, hands on each other's shoulders (we kept it PG back then) and feet moving side to side, side to side.

I'm quite sure I was workin' some amazing hair....big bangs and Sun In, baby!

But just as High School Music captured a generation of kids a few years back, our soundtrack was Grease.

It was the word, after all.

Brace yourself..... there is something coming you are going to just L-O-V-E, LOVE.

Girls, there is going to be a Grease Sing-A-Long.

It's true!

Here's the catch.

One night only....July 25th....and limited release.

But here's the problem. One VERY important city is missing.

H'town.

Dallas got the love. Austin got the love. We need Summer Lovin' too!

Visit Grease Sing-A-Long and there is a special spot that you can click on to add Houston.

I feel a girls' night out comin'!

New from Dave Barnes

Mercy me....if you have never heard of Dave Barnes, you need to click on the video below RIGHT NOW.

Don't you tell me you don't have 4 minutes.

4 short minutes will bless yourself silly.

Click on it already!

What a wonderful song and even more amazing video.

I am SUCH a sucker for this kinda stuff.

So grateful for God's divine conspiracy in my life. I'm the luckiest gal in the entire world.

I’ve been a walking heartache
I’ve made a mess of me
The person that I’ve been lately
Ain’t who I wanna be

But you stay here right beside me
Watch as the storm goes through
And I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

There’s more here than what were seeing
A divine conspiracy
That you, an angel lovely
Could somehow fall for me
You’ll always be love’s great martyr
Ill be the flattered fool
I need you

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you

On my own I’m only
Half of what I could be
I can’t do without you
We are stitched together
And what love has tethered
I could never undo

God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
God gave me you for the ups and downs
God gave me you for the days of doubt
For when I think I’ve lost my way
There are no words here left to say, it’s true
God gave me you, gave me you.
Gave me you.

My BFF for Summertime

How in the world is it already May?

Our summer calendar is still in pencil....I need some events in pen. Yes, please!

I can hardly stand how amazing it has been in H'town, in regards to weather. Alas, tomorrow the south wind is coming and my hair will be in a low ponytail until September.

'Tis true....BUT, I have something SO fun to share that will be oh so useful this summer.

Now, let me first offer the disclaimer that although I am an fitness informercial junkie (STILL haven't bought P90x, thank you very much) and I'm not a big QVC girl.

Don't get me wrong, they offer some pretty fun stuff and let's be honest, those dern hosts could sell ice to an eskimo. Is it any wonder that so many Americans are in a heap of credit card debt?

And don't you crack up laughing at the phone-in testimonials? There is always Jolene from Arkansas. You know I'm right!

Get ready....this is going to change the way you think about getting your 64 ounces of drinking water each and every day.

Brace yourself...

Introducing QVC's Acrylic 80 oz. Pitcher with Fruit Infuser.

How FUN is that?

You can create your own fruit-flavored waters, sodas, and teas with this handy-dandy pitcher.

All you have to do is add cut fruit--lemons, limes, strawberries, raspberries, etc to the rod in the center, and your beverage is infused with natural flavor. And as long as you keep the pitcher full, the fruit can last for up to 2 weeks!

Now, you know I read the reviews..because that is what I do. Everyone seems to like it...but be careful as some report that the pitcher cracks over time and the ring near the infuser rod might crack as well.

It happens. It's plastic, people.

I ordered several for late Mother's Day gifts. I think they are super fun!

And don't worry, I won't be making this a habit. Although QVC does have a pretty cool Pilates machine.....nah, the shipping would be insane. Whew, dodged a bullet there!
